What tax documents we provide

Cetera provides a consolidated 1099 document, which includes information from your 1099-DIV, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, and 1099-B. Cetera Crypto provides its own separate consolidated 1099-B.

How to tell which form is which

You may receive tax forms from both Cetera Securities and Cetera Crypto. In the Tax Documents section of the app, you will see a list of your tax documents. The name of the issuing entity will be in the title of each document. If you are using the latest version of the app, a document will be titled one of the following, preceded by the tax year:

  • Cetera Securities 1099
  • Cetera Crypto 1099

Your 1099 will also have the name of the issuing entity in the top left corner of the first page.

How to access tax documents on closed accounts

If the Cetera account is closed, you can view your 1099 by downloading the app and tapping here, or by following these steps:

  1. Download the app and log in using your Cetera username and password
  2. Tap the Account icon on the bottom right corner of your screen
  3. Tap Investing
  4. Scroll down and tap Tax Documents

Errors when accessing your tax document

If your tax document isn’t loading properly, try the following steps:

  • Log out and back in to the app
  • Uninstall and reinstalling the app
  • Turn your phone off and on making sure no other apps are running in the background
  • Double-check that you're using the latest version of the app

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, please submit a service request for the document you’re having trouble accessing. To help us verify your account, please include your date of birth and the last four digits of your social security number in your request.
